Chicago outdoor: Osprey and shark, toad tadpoles at Montrose, cicada artwork

Notes come from round Chicago outdoor and past.

WILD OF THE WEEK

Paul and Linda Sevcik of Crest Hill, who take pleasure in wildlife images, vacationed in St. Augustine, Florida, in February. “I took [photos] of an osprey which was near the shoreline not removed from the pier you visited,” Paul emailed. “I’m not certain what sort of shark that is, but it surely certain stunned us and put a smile on our faces.” Final Saturday, I wrote about the St. Johns County Ocean & Fishing Pier in St. Augustine. It will take any individual smarter than me to decipher which shark the osprey has.
